Joelton, TN

1

Just outside of Nashville sits the quiet and unassuming community of Joelton. This quiet rural area is where I grew up and still have family and friends who live in this charming city. Despite the rapid growth and development that has hit Nashville and the rest of Middle Tennessee, Joelton has managed to stay small and missed most of the growth.

Joelton is considered to be a suburb of Nashville and has approximately 7400 residents. It us conveniently located just off of I24 and is a quick 20 minute commute into downtown Nashville. Residents may also find taking Clarksville Hwy. via ?Germantown Hill? to be an excellent alternative to commuting into Nashville in lieu of I24. Joelton sit on top of a ridge and is accessible via I24, ?Devil?s Elbow? or Paradise Ridge, and Germantown Hill. There are a few small businesses such as grocery, gas, and pizza establishments found at the top of the hill that marks the business district of Joelton.

The local post office, Joelton Baptist Church, Joelton Church of Christ, Joelton Middle School and Joelton Elementary School are found just off of I24 close to the Paradise Ridge area. There is no longer a Joelton High School (which I attended) so students in grades 9-12 attend nearby Whites Creek High School. Joelton is a part of the Metro Nashville Davidson County School System. Residents may also choose to send their students to nearby Goodpasture Christian School or Davidson Academy.

If you are seeking a peaceful community to call home, but want to be close to the electric lifestyle of Nashville, then Joelton is the perfect fit for you. Here you will find older existing home on substantial acreage tracts, some mini farms and horse properties, some new subdivisions with larger homes on small lots, and a few large homes worthy of the title ?estate home.?

Joelton is conveniently located just off of I24 and residents here and quickly commute into Nashville for work or shopping. Clarksville, Springfield, Goodlettsville, and Ashland City are also within a short driving distance and offer additional shopping and dining experiences. The Rivergate Mall retail center is located in Goodlettsville which is about a 30 minute drive from Joelton. Here you will find unlimited restaurants, movie theatres, and shopping outlets.

Family and community involvement are important to residents here and there is a strong baseball/softball league here with a nice community park. Since Joelton is a part of metro Nashville, residents here are represented with one council person. Residents also vote in the Nashville mayor and other city elections. Residents here are provided city water and electricity from Nashville Electric Service. Fire and police protection are also provided as part of metropolitan Nashville services. Homes have their own private septic tanks for waste disposal. Residents are required to provide their own garage pickup. Several private trash collection services are available to local residents.
