It is located in Williamson County and consists of only 41.23 square miles with a population of approximately 32,426. Brentwood is mainly a residential community which consists of approximately ninety percent residential homes. The remaining ten percent is comprised of commercial and service institutional properties. The city adopted a one acre minimum requirement for building years ago which has kept the population density down in this area. If maintaining an acre of land is not for you, then rest assured there are home on less than an acre of land in Brentwood. However, developers and builders are required to build no more than one house per acre of land in each development. If they build homes on smaller lots there must be common area or undeveloped land left in the development so that the one acre requirement will be satisfied.
Brentwood is famous for their public school system and many parents will tell you that they strongly believe Brentwood City Schools are equivalent to private sector schools. Brentwood Civitan Park is where baseball takes place on a grand scale during the spring and summer! Here you will find six baseball fields, a concession stand and restrooms.
Concord Park is a beautiful 40 acre park that provides paved walking and biking trails. This park is also where you will find the Brentwood Library.
Crockett Park is the largest park in the city and contains more than 170 acres. This spacious park features an amphitheatre, two historic homes (Cool Springs House), a wonderful wooden playground that children adore, picnic shelters, seven lighted tennis courts, eight lighted ball fields, eleven multipurpose fields, and one of the most scenic biking and jogging trails in the entire area.
Deerwood Arboretum and Nature Area features lakes and nature trails, indigenous wildlife, and has outdoor classrooms and an amphitheatre, and of course, the Arboretum.
Granny White Park is a great place to go jogging or biking on some beautiful trails. This facility also offers tennis courts, baseball fields, sand volleyball, a playground and picnic facilities.
Maryland Way Park is the perfect escape for professionals working in Maryland Farms. This private park provides paved walking, jogging, and biking paths with various exercise stations throughout the paths. This park sits conveniently next to the YMCA in Maryland Farms.
Primm Park is a great place to visit if you are interested in a little history. This 31 acre park is located on Moores Lane, just past the Cool Springs Galleria. Here you will find a historic school house built in 1832 and restored in 2003 named Boiling Springs Academy. You will also find a pre-historic Native American burial mound.
Tower Park is home to the brand new Williamson County Indoor Sports Complex. This 76,000 sq.ft. facility features a 50+ meter indoor swimming pool, indoor tennis courts, and a complete fitness center. Outside you will find walking, jogging, and biking trails and several multi-purpose fields.
